The ask
Vodafone needed an explainer series of animations to showcase their diverse achievements, including work with artificial intelligence and quantum computing. The goal was to move away from the perception of Vodafone as solely a telecommunications company and introduce these complex technology topics.
Our approach
We developed a unique illustrative 2D animation style to give the animation series a consistent and identifiable look and feel. The voiceovers were scripted and directed in a way that gave the complex nature of the content a personal and comprehensible feel. Each animation followed the Vodafone style guidelines, we utilised the full range of the brand palette to create a piece that didn’t feel ‘overly branded’ but still represented Vodafone’s core style.
The outcome
The series garnered over 1 million views on YouTube, indicating significant engagement and increased awareness. Additionally, it generated more than 142,000 impressions, 5,000 engagements, and achieved a 3.58% engagement rate across LinkedIn and X platforms – surpassing engagement rate benchmarks.
On Vodafone Voices – the internal platform for sharing content among colleagues – the series received approximately 2 million impressions, 1,451 engagements, and 172 shares. The “space” animation performed exceptionally well, generating over 1 million impressions and ranking as one of the top three posts of the year on the platform. The animations were well-received, with over 19,000 employees viewing the posts and 261 employees engaging with the content.
The Quantum Computing explainer has been one of our top-performing posts on Linked In this month with over 160k impressions. Really great results, thanks again to everyone involved.
